John Morant

Head Coach

John Morant enters his third year as Head Coach of the North Shore Generals after completing a two-year stint as the Generals Defensive Coordinator.  

Before joining the Generals coaching staff, Coach Morant played for the Generals for 7 years and was a hard-hitting linebacker and defensive end.  Morant was an all-star and a captain during his Generals playing career.

Morant had a 13 year semi-pro career, playing in the NEFL, EFL, and Colorado semi-pro league.  He also played for the US Army during his time of service in the US military.

Morant was an all-scholastic wide receiver and defensive back for Catholic Memorial High School before taking his football talents to Bridgewater State College.

Danny Cooksey

Defensive Coordinator

Coach Danny Cooksey enters his second season as Defensive Coordinator of the North Shore Generals.

Coach Cooksey played semi-pro football for the EFL's Charleston Townies in 2006, and then for North Shore Generals in 2007. He played for several other semi-pro teams including the Northeast Bulldogs before returning to the Generals in 2012. That year he was the starting running back in the NEFL AAA Championship game.

In 2012, Coach Cooksey won the North Shore Generals "General Award". He then played the 2013 and 2014 seasons for the Generals before retiring in 2015 to be an assistant coach. Cooksey played his high school ball for Lynn English.

David Hathaway

Offensive Coordinator

Coach David Hathaway is in his third season coaching with the North Shore Generals.  This will be his first season as the team's Offensive Coordinator.

Previously, Coach Hathaway was the Assistant Offensive Coordinator with the NEFL's MDX Warlords.  He also has NEFL playing experience having played cornerback for the Bay State Thunder.

Dave played his high school football locally, at Lynn English High School.  He is an advid fan of the game, and he brings a positive attitude to every meeting, practice and game. #DYNASTY

Craig Sarno

Offensive Line Coach

Craig Sarno begins his first season in the coaching ranks as the North Shore Generals' Offensive Line Coach.

Coach Sarno played 14 seasons of semi-pro football including stints with the North Shore Generals, New England Stars, New England Bolts, Medford Mustangs, and Middlesex County Warlords. 

Coach Sarno brings a winning football background to his role with the Generals.  In his career, he has played in 4 NEFL Championship games.

Sean Donahue

Special Assiatant

Sean Donahue is part owner of the Generals.  He was the Offensive Line  and Secial Teams Coach with the Generals for three years before stepping down too create time to develop his professional career.

He was a four-year starting center and captain during his semi-pro playing career with the Generals.

Native to Lynn, Ma., Donahue played high school football at Lynn Classical where he earned Northeastern Conference and Agganis All-Star recognition as an offensive guard and center.

Donahue played  football and lacross for Framingham State College  for four years before graduating in 2008.   He was a two-year starter on the football team at center.

Donahue has also coached football  and lacross at St. Mary's High School for the past 4 years.
